Reading about men and women who have stood on the Word of God and had success manifest in their lives is encouraging. Here are a few that inspire you as you begin depending on God and Word.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8
Tyler Perry - American playwright , author, director and actor. His best-known character is "Madea." Tyler went from homelessness to multi-million-dollar success. His most recent movie, “Why Did We Get Married” is just another in his growing list of box office and audience successes.
As Tyler says in his own words, “The Bible says that you should speak things that are not as though they were, and that you must cast down imaginations and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. It also says that the power of life and death is in the tongue. So, you can speak life or you can speak death.”
Before Tyler started realizing success in his career, he had to imagine himself in a better place. There was a time when he was so broke that he was literally living in his car! The nights were hard and the days long. But he believed in the Word of God and Tyler kept “choosing life.” He envisioned success and stood on the promises of God.
Today Tyler is a great example of the power of Christ and what faith, patience, and perseverance will bring. His most recent move, “Why Did I Get Married” was a box office success! Not only is Tyler able to share a strong Christ-centered message in his movies, but he’s way beyond living in his car (you can see Tyler’s former home in the movie “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” which was used as the mansion set).
